It started as one of those days…

By

…but it ended as a day where I almost met my target!

I woke up this morning at 06:30 and there was no daylight. Additionally, it was raining. It was one of those mornings when one doesn’t want to get out of the bed. I would much rather have stayed in, read a good book and have a big cup of camomile tea.

The day would have continued with some cooking for my royal lunch and I would have probably finished my day with a drama movie. All my activities would have described a perfect hygge day. Do you know what hygge stands for?

Hygge is a Danish word for coziness. I have adopted the concept and I like it very much. My hygge period starts in the beginning of November and it ends around the end of March. Please note that when one is in Denmark, one cannot live for 5 months every year without discovering the beauty of all the activities that during the summer time are almost non-existent. It is a given and one should not choose this country if one cannot cope with the specific Danish weather.

So, back to what I was saying. I wanted to stay inside my apartment in my comfy robe with my warm slippers on and be hygge all day long. However, the real life kicked in, so after 40 minutes I was biking to work in the rain. Believe me, it is not as romantic as it sounds :-). On my way, I decided that this weather will not ruin my day. I have so many things to get done that I don’t have time to think about the rain.

I reached my work place after a detour to have a nice latte from Kafferiet, I chitchated a bit with my colleagues in the lounge and finally I got to work. In the process I realised that there are so many tasks on my desk and that the time might be a constraint. I did some prioritisation (I’m still working on improving this skill) before getting started and I set my target for the day. I managed to accomplish about 85% of what I wanted to do. As a general thing, the statistic is not looking bad. However, it made me wonder: Were my ambitions too high in the morning? Or do I need to improve my productivity level? Hmmm, it is always nice when you end the day with a question to yourself, don’t you think?

There are still so many things I need to learn about me. The fact that they are countless makes it a very interesting adventure.

Finishing on a curious note, what will tomorrow bring? (Hope it will not be rain) Good night, my friends!
